Poetry: Religion

When asked about my faith I falter

It's not something I want to do

I want to believe in you

Want to give myself to you

To believe in the promises you made

But that would mean I trust you

That I have faith in you

In something I can't see

When I try to explain this

I look crazy, insdane to doubt you

There are times that I can feel you

I can feel your strength, the peace that settles over me when I'm upset

And yet, I feel alone at moments

I feel that if something so great is out there

Then why am I in pain, alone and scared?

Why am I afraid to trust anyone?

When asked about my faith, I falter

It's not something I want to do

I want to believe in you

I want to trust you

But how do I know you're really there?

Then again, how do you know the wind is there?

Even though you can't see it, you can feel it.

Isn't that faith?
