Life

Forgivable light shines through the window

HE wants me to believe in him

And forgive him for yesterday

For the day that drowned my new found happiness

For the irreplaceable hope that has lost its way

I asked for help in unspeakable ways

And got just what I asked for

A life of happiness

That would die in an instant

When my faith becomes shattered

Torn to the floor

Stripped away by on unexpected day

A week is left of me to be by myself

In a world with nobody

Just classes and life without a family

They left me here to be the watcher

And didn't realize that I may need the watching

The alcohol tastes bitter

And stings my throat

And yet fills me with the desire to forget

It numbs my mind

And the painful feelings that I should live through

So onward through the days

When they aren't here to bicker

Or watch every move I make

I'm the conqueror

The head of the house

And yet here I am

Still alone

In a shallow pool of unhappiness

While everyone is outside in the light that wants forgiveness

As I step into it

The bright colors sting my eyes

And the feelings of emptiness are shattered

The light forgives me

For the darkness I let in

And I forgive the light

And pray that tomorrow is a better day
