Romance novel writing tips

There's a hunk on the cover or perhaps it's the innocent-looking gorgeous female that has you picking up that zesty book. Either way, it's caught readers by storm and is usually associated with females. Besides that it's a genre that can run its readers through the emotional gauntlet. This genre is Romance.

I've heard several persons call them smut. This is because more and more authors are including several scenes depicting sexual interaction, or "making love," in each chapter. If Romance is smut, does that mean the educational texts are also smut? Romance does not require sex. Consumers buy Romance novels because of the inner romance. The high pressure situations that sometimes contain sex scenes just because of the way the characters are or what they are trying to convey.

With Romance novels littering the bookshelves in non-book only shops, such as Wal-Mart and Super Value, how can a new writer get their novel well-written so they become highly anticipated and well-loved? Romance is not limited to male-female relationships so making certain that a well-defined couple is necessary. This couple is who the story is supposed to revolve around. Other couples meeting and falling for each other are acceptable, but the pitfalls and major problems should be centered around one couple. A few of my favorite novels had multiple couples that found each other. There would be one couple that the novel surrounded, while other couples had an easier time or weren't highlighted on as much. At least one main couple is necessary.

Next they must either meet or already know each other. In some cases they use to know one another and were separated. In the movie Sweet Home Alabama the two were married, but she had filed for divorce. In a book I once read, a married couple were separated by the Vietnam War. Though she had waited for three years, she had finally agreed to declare him dead and wed another man when she gets a phone call saying he's coming home. In several boks the couples are either childhood friends or work with each other in some capacity. Some books incorporate irony and divine workings to the story.

Then there are the paranormal Romances in which literally anything can happen. They meet in an antique shop where the owner is a vampire. He doesn't even realize that she is a witch or nymph until it's too late and he's fallen for her. They meet in millions of different ways and there are trillions of myths and legends to call upon. That can be be played with and rearranged
