US elections 2008: Which party will win the presidency?

I will support your right to believe your political views; however, I will fight you right into the gates of hell if you try to impose your views on me. It has never been right or wrong, left or right; it has always been compromise of ideas resulting in the best programs for the most people, a democracy.

As I write this article, I personally have no idea who the next president of the United States will be. I do know however, he will be the best man for the job. He will be the best President of the United States, if we the people support our new Commander and Chief, and guide him through his term. My point is the best President is the person who generates the most enthusiasm among the American people. Not an easy task, but if the job was easy it would not take the exceptional caliber of a honest selfless man or woman, who is ready to lay down their life and the lives of millions of Americans, for a just and honorable cause.

The very attitude that separates a big corporate CEO from President of the United States of America is their selfless dedication, the President will be putting the American people and our countries honor ahead of a fat bottom line. A bottom line driven by corporate greed and big bonus checks for advancing the company, even at the expense of fellow Americans, is not the goal of honorable men. I believe all the candidates from all the parties are honorable men, and anyone of them if supported by the electorate could do a fine job running the country.

My point is simple, the next elected President of the United States needs our help and we need his help. I have learned over the years that there are many ways to accomplish a goal. What all the ways have in common is unification, or common ground. Our economy is in the tank, and our need for foreign oil has our country hemorrhaging money. Now is not the time to draw political lines in the sand. Now is the time to circle our wagons and on these capitol issues, fully support our elected officials; showing solidarity, rather then fear and disharmony, builds confidence around the world.

This show of unity and strength, "one for all and all for one," as said so eloquently by the Three Musketeers, built the confidence needed to surmount overwhelming odds and win. Let this allegory represent what we the people of the United States can do under adverse conditions when we believe in our new President, our new Commander and Chief.
