Once upon a memory
I have success and victory now
all here in the palm of my hands.
I have luxury and comforts abound,
but without you my life is utterly bland.
Time created a lasting enmity between us,
and I know my love, I am to blame.
I watched my nemesis, time, ticking away,
please say you love me or I will go insane.
I never meant to hurt you love,
or to consciously shut you out.
I put you second, for that I am ashamed,
but my love for you, please do not doubt.
It was not greed that drove me on,
but a passion to see my dreams fulfilled.
Though now alone in the darkness,
I feel emptiness within me still.
I long to have your arms around me,
and have you tell me it will never end.
I need you to want me, to need me,
even if in your heart you must pretend.
So be prepared for a war of wills my love,
for I haven't the strength to let you go.
From t he first moment I laid eyes on you,
I've loved you more than you will ever know.
Turn around. Look. See the real me.
Listen to the whispers in your heart.
Tonight I feel the convergence of our souls,
gently pleading my love that we not part.
I love you as I have said a thousand times,
so please do not throw our love away.
It has been there for us centuries past
can it not be for just one more day?
