Hello love-goodbye friendship is the perfect title to my marriage! You see my husband and I were best friends and fought for a long time over getting romantically involved. We constantly had thoughts on how it wouldn't work or how weird sex would be. We talked about it over and over till we got tired of talking about it and almost said forget it.
Then one night after months of debating and seeing other useless people we tried to kiss. Boy was that moment akward! We kissed so fast that we about broke each others noses! So we decided to try a hug to see if that was any better. The hug was absolutely amazing! For the first time I felt like I was a puzzle and a piece had been missing and he was my piece to finish that puzzle. We like to never let go of each other. After what seemed like hours which was only minutes-we let go slowly.
Then out of nowhere we both had uncontrollable crazy laughter for a really long time. Then we hugged again for a long time, then we laughed again for a really long time. We did these two acts all night long with huge amounts of nervous laughter.
This was really scary thinking the whole time how could this possibly work at all? We had so much in common that we would get on each others nerves in a short time! So we started picking trying to find things we didn't have in common. We had a handful and that ended up being good enough for us.
We knew we had a lot going against us. We knew the fights and struggles we would have to endure over being together but we didn't care. We had waited our whole life to feel this type of love and commitment. Just as we had fought and struggled against it-then we were going to fight and struggle to keep it. I mean how could you give up on a relationship when your other half felt like your Siamese twin? Would you? Love like that doesn't come along every day!
Years later,we are still together and nothing has changed in our relationship. We've had no disagreements,no arguments,no fights. We've had no trust barriers broken. We've felt no love lost-only gained through time. We tease each other constantly over little things that keeps the fire lit in our relationship.
Years from now when we are still together I will look back on that little phrase I wrote this article on and say those words that fit us so very well "Hello love-goodbye friendship" and know whoever suggested this article must of known us very well!
