Downtown Houston is the most happening place of all times which has something for everybody no matter what your tastes or preferences are. There are plenty of city's best restaurants and bars found in downtown Houston that you can never go hungry, thirsty or unsatisfied as there are almost 300 places to choose from.

Downtown Houston has several clubs, bars and restaurants to suit every taste. And with the growing times most of the restaurants in downtown have expanded their seating to include sidewalk cafe service. Lately most of the restaurants have started offering al fresco dining during the daytime business hours too. No matter what time of the day you visit downtown Houston you will always find a restaurant of your choice.

The best part is that most of the downtown restaurants are located aptly within walking distance from the Main Street Rail. And here are the top restaurants in downtown Houston which are my personal favourites.

ZULA RESTAURANT (705 Main St, Houston, TX 77002) Zula is one of the America's top restaurants and is among the best dining restaurants of 2008 offering a luxurious dining experience. It is a very famous destination with two levels of glitzy dcor for variety of banquets and events: corporate parties, birthdays, anniversaries, and more. It is a classic and contemporary shrine to innovative New American Cuisine where dishes are prepared simply and tastefully with a twist.

BIRRAPORETTI'S (500 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002-1625) Birraporetti's is among the great Italian restaurants found in Downtown Houston which was started ages ago in 1974 in Houston with the slogan, A Great Italian RestaurantA Heck of an Irish Bar! Birraporretti's is the place to be in whether out on a date, celebration with friends and family or if you want to simply relax after the theatre. It is best known as a great Pizza Place offering good food, fast service and reasonable prices. You should try out this Italian-Irish old favorite restaurant, which has managed to keep pace with the present times significantly.

LES GIVRAL'S KAHVE (801 Congress St, Houston, TX 77002) rated as a best family friendly dining restaurant of 2008, it is a very famous eating spot, located in the heart of the city. The Givrals name has been synonymous with French Vietnamese cuisine and fresh bakery. It is a favorite among the locals and the foreigners alike. Decorated with contemporary designs it proudly offers fresh, fast, healthy and affordable Vietnamese Cuisine.
