Do we all realize that there is a climate/energy crisis? More than likely NO, but somehow we all know that there is a recession going on. Why? It all has to do with money. Money and power rule what we want to hear and see as truth or lies. The issues about our environment are as plain as daylight, yet we don't want to admit it because it is to far from what we all deem valuable (money worthy) knowledge. The issue of a financial crisis comes up, then, all of a sudden everyone become the all-knowing expert. Where do we come up with these guidelines that define our truths and lies, when did we become so self consumed with ourselves that we can't see past the 2 feet in front of us.
We have all heard and seen the affects of the recession take place in our communities and cities across the United States. The decline of home prices, foreclosures rates on the rise, unemployment, small business and even large business closing. It's your neighbor, your friends, your parents, brother or sister or even yourself experiencing these down economic times.
This was a long time coming.
We as a society and economy were so far from the moral and economic compass that we aren't able to navigate our way back to a stable or an acceptable economy.
Giving out blame to the first one to jump in, our United States Government. That was an easy one. Certainly like many people taking on the responsibility is not an option as we rely on the good faith of our government to sweep in to save the day. Unfortunately, we cannot save what plain and simply does not work. When have you heard this one, if your children are in financial trouble don't bail them out by giving them money. You let them learn through their own mistakes and decide for themselves that it is time to change their ways. The same is true of our economic losses; we shouldn't be throwing money at something just for the sake of believing that it is going to solve anything.
We need to take a step back and realize where w e all went wrong and change from there. For instance, we don't need to lend money haphazardly. We create guidelines that work, we may have to try more that one, but then we stick with it. We certainly at this point don't decide to let our proud homeowners go without the American dream. The time has come for lenders and lendees to negotiate new terms until we are all in better economic times. Thousand of homes with homeowners, beats out homes without homeowners by a mile. Just ask the neighbors who have several homes in
