How to save on gas without buying a hybrid vehicle

In today's economy almost all of us are worried about the cost of gasoline. We are always looking for ways to conserve our gas. In this article I will share some tips on how to conserve your gas. No one should have to go buy a hybrid car, if we use these tips. These tips can be implemented in your daily routine right away, and cost you nothing at all. Maybe you can save by trying a few of these tips also.

The first gas saving tip is to combine all your errands into one trip. We should do this because a warm engine uses less fuel than a cold engine. When running errands it also helps to take the shortest route with less traffic as possible. This not only conserves your fuel, but your time as well. A lot of us are guilty of this. We forget something at the supermarket, and then have to make a special trip to go back and pick it up. This little act of forgetfulness uses tons of fuel.

The second fuel saving tip is to choose the right time to drive. For example, you can leave fifteen minutes early to get to your destination or leave right after rush hour traffic. Repeated stopping and starting again, uses up a huge amount of gasoline. A lot of people don't even realize it. For example, my husband leaves for work fifteen minutes early every morning.

The third tip is to disable your four wheel drive. When your vehicle is in four wheel drive, it consumes a large amount of gasoline. This is a great tip to remember for those motorists who drive SUV's and trucks.

The fourth tip to save on gas is to use your cruise control, whenever possible. You should maintain a steady and safe speed. A good speed to maintain is fifty five miles per hour, when ever permitted. Cruise control is very convenient and it can also save on gas. The cruise control is your friend.

The fifth and final tip I have to share with you is to use less air conditioning. Roll the windows down as much as possible, especially when you are driving in the city. You should leave the vents open to circulate air into the cabin of your vehicle. This may be uncomfortable at first, but you will adapt to the new change.

In closing, I hope these five tips that I have shared with you will help you save on gasoline. They cost nothing and can be implemented right away. Some of these tips will not only help conserve gas, but also your time and money. There is no need to go out and buy a new hybrid car. There are much easier ways to save. There are a lot of great websites for you to go to. You can find a lot more fuel saving tips on these sites. Do a search on how to save on gas, and see what tips you can come up with. You will be amazed. I would like to wish you all good luck, and may we all pray that the gas price's go down soon.
