I live in a very rural part of the us and I find a lot of the people here (including my family) are...how should I say it...racists on one level or another, and the the most amazing part of it is, the majority do not even know it.
The very first time I hard Obama speak, I found that him to be very capable of catching my attention, which is not a easy thing to do. I also believe that he can see into the middle and lower classes meaning simply he is more in touch.
I think I made up my mind when I watched the boring debates, When he was being attacked I saw him on several occasions focus his entire attention on his opponent, and it seemed he was rarely shaken while even sometimes taking the debate to a new level by actually complimenting or agreeing with the opposition while putting forth his ideas.
Without even adding opinion just simply looking at the statistics, it becomes very clear that we need a change, and yes there is a chance that Obama's change could make things worse, but we also know that we are on a road to nowhere according to almost any pole you look at the numbers simply show the middle class getting poorer and the rich class getting richer, and I for one am sick of hearing on the news about capitalism and how obama is going to bring a end to a Americans rite to become rich,. Honestly that is not what most of the middle class see at all, instead, because we have never been rich and most likely never will be we do not understand the need to step on all below us to continue to get richer. I mean the majority of us are content with having a home and paying our bills and doing the best we can for our family. We are not near as likely as the rich to use the word capitalism as a cover for the word GREED,. So if by some chance I suddenly start making more than 250,000 per year then I would be more than willing to pay more taxes because the way I see it I could still continue to live very good.
I am also growing tired of the word socialism, lets face the facts we have had and will always have some form of socialism in this country, it may not rise to the type of socialism that the former USSR rose to but those who oppose obama do not make that distinction. we have always paid taxes, had medical cards, food stamps, WICA programs, heating programs...etc..I could honestly go on forever, these are all forms of socialism.
And last but most certainly not least Obama has stated that he intends on bringing our troops home as quickly as he can do so, he admits the war was wrong, while his opposition will only say yes we will bring the troops home "with victory even if it takes 100 years"
I simply ask "what is victory in this war?"
