"I need two Nacho BellGrandes please", were the words of the first order I made while working at Taco Bell. Indeed, I definitely did get laughed at, people would tell jokes and, make fun of the little chihuahua that was in the commercial. Even though my job always seemed, to be the topic of discussions whenever, my friends wanted to get a laugh, it felt good to say that "I'm finally making my own money". I felt impressed with myself, it was as though I no longer, had to depend on anyone to cover my expenses, I could do it on my own from-then-on-out.
An after-school job is basically a way to help youths within these point and time step into a greater step of maturity, taking on responsibilities that is going to help better themselves as a independent individual. Teenagers being employed during school, helps them to gain more essential knowledge, that is going to benefit them, when they are no longer in school. For instance, when payday comes around, teens are now able to deposit money into a bank account, which helps them to help balance out their financial status in-a-long-run. After-school employment is also beneficial, to today's adolescents also because they can began saving funds to help them with college tuition, book fees, living cost, and much more.
Today, I know most parents can tell you that out of majority of youth today, that children who are working are the least ones to get into trouble. It is said that a job can, help at risk teens stay out of trouble, and keeps them off the streets. also to do something positive with their time. Most of the time the teens, who are at risk really just have an excess of free time, so them working would prevent that, and help them to steer their life, in the correct direction. Sometimes a little intervention, can go along way in a teens life, and an after-school job, just may be that one thing to get them by.
So, when the title appeared "Arguments against teens working after-school jobs, I had to come and let my opinion be heard. There shouldn't even be an argument in subject to this topic, because teens should have the right to work also just like everyone else. They can go out and purchase things with money, why shouldn't they be able to go out, and earn their own money, I say as long as they can handle the work and it isn't illegal, then their rights should be respected. Yes, I feel teens should have some restrictions in regards to them working, no argument intended, because they are still minors regardless of their capabilities. To the parents who feel that teens shouldn't have, an after-school job then, it would be irrelevant for you to complain when they turn to you, to buy everything.
