Love at first sight - a fairy tale ideal, best left to Shakespeare and hopeless romantics. Miranda was neither. Love itself was a fairy tale in the icy temple only known as her heart. She was a woman barely out of girlhood, mercilessly preparing for cruelty known as the real world; she had no time for the rush of joy, the warmth of holding hands, the symphony of a shared laugh, the imaginary fireworks of a first kiss. It was all non-existent, in fact as her mind absorbed the words of the book in front of her and her hand raced across her paper as she wrote down notes to review for her History of Art class. She mentally hammered at herself to finish as much as she could before the hour was up, maintaining her strict study schedule she set for herself. They were the average troubles of a college student, though her year had been emotionally draining. But at the moment, as she sighed to collect her oh-so-shattered self, her mind wandered back to himAt last, her heart finally had the chance to flutter for the first time, since she began to study for night. She hated when that happened.
His name was Joseph, photography major. He was almost too good to be true a very caring, polite, hard-working young man with a passion for life. Miranda herself envied that passion; it was that part of him that lured her into love. Only first "meeting" him through the tales told from her friend of ten years, Melissa. The second "meeting", seeing his picture on an online profile. The more Miranda looked through his collection of pictures the more she giggled at the silliness they displayed, giving her only
