IN THE GARDEN
The Days are changing
Light hours growing shorter
Once green leaves fall
with the wind of
Autumn's whisper.
And my garden of flowers,
Blossoms once planted
as a reminder of
your smile
Now wither and fade
Surrendered to death
Held tightly by the grip
of dark frozen soil.
Where are you now my love?
Where is it you've traveled?
Are there dreams scattered
Along the roadsides
waiting for you?
Are you painting pictures,
Hues glorious
as none seen before
While singing sweet songs
with echoes in
mountain passes?
Tell me, dear love,
Does morning
greet you
The same
as once before?
In the garden today,
the last pedal of daisy fell,
browned by lack
loosen from center
collapsed,
now folded
Fading to oblivion
Uncelebrated
but by one.
And the sunflowers,
your favorite,
have wilted
their heads hanging
secretly shedding
private tears
At your leaving.
The gift left behind
From the lanes of roses
Silently beg,
Pleading
They're own accord
Those sad, sad thorns,
The remaining sentinels
The poignant reminders
Of dripping blood,
A once broken heart.
Sleep well my love.
I shall see you in spring.
Your touch will find me
On warm blowing winds.
And once again
I will recall your smile
In the new tulips of season
Red crimsons, yellows and white.
And the fine heather's
of purples and blues
will dust off their faces
eager to greet the warmth
of waking sun.
Only to welcome
Your smile, your grace.
Sleep well my love.
Sleep well.

And
by Toni Doswell
Thirsting for the first blade of evidence
Springing forth from the earthen ground
Evidence of reproduction- hope
That is
As He plants each new seed
Promising to water and feed
By giving you the light that you so desperately need
And behind you
HEART OF THE GARDENER
The Gardener's heart is evergreen,
And yet, His hands are ne'er unclean.
He tends the ground; He sends
by Moeze Lalji
The gardener’s heart
Lovingly spoils the seeds
So that they
Can roam around
In our eyes
As beautiful
Colors of the world
