Keeping your house clean all week long is possible, or so I've been told. I hear it often in fact. Just keep up on the day to day cleaning and get yourself into a routine. Okay so if other people can keep up on their house, then hey I can too, right?
I wake up each morning and decide on what day to day cleaning means to me today. It almost always means dishes in fact dishes could be done a few times a day. Ok so my fist task of each day will be dishes, well first task after getting my 2 month old fed and changed, my two year old changed and eating breakfast, and my 4 year old showered and dropped of at preschool. Whew tired already, and it's only 9am, an no I did not get a late start I wake up at 7am everyday thank you very much.
So it's 9am and I'm gulping down coffee and washing the dishes, usually about this time my youngest needs fed again, so I take a break and go nurse him, doesn't take too long 15 or so minutes. Then right back to the dishes. After the dishes are done I tidy the kitchen picking up toys and whatever happens to be on the counters. Next task to attack is going to be the mountain of laundry that seems to grow by the hour. Start a load in the washer and grab the broom while I'm back there.
While the first load of laundry is washing I sweep up the kitchen and find myself wondering how on earth cheerios can manage to make it clear across the room. Put the broom away and switch laundry and start another load. About this time a take a breather to check my email and maybe read the news online. *Ding* time for another feeding with the baby and diaper changes. 11am sneaks up on me every day, time to figure out what's for lunch and get it started before I go get my daughter from school at noon.
12:30 return home with daughter in tow, eat lunch, clean up lunch, do lunch dishes, and switch clothes again. Time for another feeding... is it nap time yet. No luck with naps the baby is the only one that sleeps. I take some time playing with my children a must for every parent. It's becoming late afternoon I fold all the laundry with a little "help" from the kids. We put away our clothes and pick up the toys for the 1st time that day. Couple more feedings with the baby and it's time to cook dinner and clean up afterward.
In the evening I take a few hours to either write or watch a favorite show. Of course there are more diapers and I'm always nursing the baby. Then it's snacks, baths, clean the toys again and bed for the kids. Whew the day flies by. As I end my day I realize that my "To do list" is much longer than what I accomplished for the day. Every day I do the same things dishes, laundry, cook and clean up, tidy up and care for my kids, my house is never going to be as clean as my husband thinks it should be (it's not really that bad honestly), but I proudly announce that my house is lived in and I like it that way. As far as the deep cleaning goes I do that when the kids stay with their grandparents. I do what I can when I can it's not like the messes are going anywhere.
