Before you gave me Hope
I had Faith.
When you first accepted all I was,
a diamond without shine,
I had already chosen you.
Each moment after,
I glistened a little more in your hand
hoping I'd earn my true light.
Through your love and caring,
some not so easy days
and over hours of feeling not good enough,
I discovered my natural shine.
If I seem to not shine so brightly now
it is because I'm earning my new glisten alone.
I have glowed and shined in your pride filled hands.
Now I'm learning to glow and shine
through pride in myself.
