As misunderstood as they sometimes are,
pen ink and letters take the images
from my mind,
and place them on the white
of my lined paper
A phrase, an exclamation in drag,
scribbles of a sort or even quotes,
create a work of art even Picasso would envy.
From letter A to letter Z
and everything in between,
I summarize arguments and
stumble through coherent thought
letting dementia in long enough
to duel with imagination in a free for all
fight with writers block.
On occasion, I summon
my muse to play.
She graciously accepts
whispering politic and lively gossip
as my hand scribbles
the next great story, poem or quote:
starting phrase to come
right before the end.
Finis.

Spelling it all out before
I danced with the devil,
Because he fed me a line,
Words upon words,
Mixed with rose colored lies.
Words of deception,
Flowed
