The Compassionate Man
Maturity has taken my passion,
For making an implacable stand.
No more do I dance in the street in the dark,
Daring to fight for my plan.
Once I knew better than others,
How everybody should live.
Now I know less than some others,
How taking leaves nothing to give.
I once was a beacon for action,
Burning to brighten the night.
Now I'm a man of compassion,
Hoping to do one thing right.
