Exploring the natural world, in all it's wonder, and beauty, do we find evidence that suggests all of this came to be by accident, or by creative design?
Now I am no genius, but I know a few simple things.
No great work of art could exist, had no artist ever brought it to life.
When I walk through the woods on a warm autumn day, with the sun shining on my face, the beauty of that picture can take my breath away. When I stand at the edge of the ocean, the sand beneath my feet, the salty spray mingling with the morning air, I think of all of the mortal artists who have tried to recreate what was already created; captured, as I am, by the awesomeness of it all. For every painting ever painted of the colors of autumn, of the ocean at sunrise, we all know an artist painted them, and we praise the artist for their work. How can we not know then, there was an original artist, who first created all of this?
I know that no working machine could work at all, had no-one ever built it.
I know that my desktop computer is full of many parts, each of which does a specific thing, and all of which work together, just as it was intended to do, by it's maker. I know too, that my desktop computer was made by someone with the intellegence and imagination, to design such a thing. I also know that the world I live in, from it's inner core, to the farest reaches of the universe far beyond my field of vision, is full of many parts, each of which does a specific thing, and all of which work together, just as it was intended to do, by it's maker. How is that the trees produce the air I breathe, and the breathe the carbon monoxide I produce? How is that out of the ground I walk on come the food my body needs to survive? And how is that the little bee that goes buzzing through the spring afternoon, is there to carry pollen, to replenish my food supply? How is it that the moon is there in the night sky, keeping the planet I live on, in perfect balance, within space? How is, too, that the sun gives me just the right amount of heat, and light? What are the chances that it's all just coincidence? It was all just accidental?
I wonder, did you know?
Did you know that the chances that a monkey typed all of the works of William Shakespeare, from beginning to end, in exact order, using correct punctuation, and of course, purely by accident, are greater than the chances that the world came to be, by accident?
Did you know that the chances that my desktop computer actually created itself, out of nothing, are far greater than the chances that the world came to be, by the long series of random coincidences, many people want to believe in?
