Success means different things to different people. When asked this question, "What is success?", there are always varieties of answers. Some people said success is making lots of money. Some people said success is being happy and so on. When we see movie stars, we often view them as successful people in life. When we see businessmen dressed up well, we also think of them as being successful. What is success to a person? It is said that money cannot buy happiness. But without money there won't be happiness either.
My journey in life is not complete yet. I have not reach my successful stage of life yet. If you think that to have money means is successful, then I obviously is not successful. One moment of success or a time of success does not mean you will be successful forever. I have felt period of success. It is very short-lived. Though I am not working, but being able to live day by day, with your husband(spouse) supporting you, and you(the partner/spouse/wife), looking after the children, life is a balance, there is happiness. Everything is complete. You have a loving spouse to share your weals and woes, you have children to adore, you have a complete family under one roof. This to me is success. One success leads to the whole family success. The husband is successful in that in working, he has a stable job, a salary every month, coming back from work, there is a place of comfort and support.
To tell whether a person is successful a not, we must know what is success first. Different people have different dreams in their life. Not all people have the same dreams. All people are unique and special in their own ways. Everybody has different potential to develop their own capabilities. Every person in this world should learn to be independent, meaning they must have ability to provide for themselves, supporting themselves and depending and relying everything on themselves. So this means that he/she must have monetary means to support himself/herself. She is financially stable, has a job, has earning capabilities. Anytime this person loses job, if he is not able to support himself, he is not successful. He has failed temporarily. He needs to restart his success journey again.
A successful person is one who is able to fulfill his dreams and goals in life. He/She has an earning potential. He is able to support himself. A successful person has a woman or man beside them, to share their weals and woes. A successful person is even more successful if his/her life is complete with children. He has a happy social life and work life, everything in balance and coping well.
Another factor in contributing success of a person is his/her ability to cope with life. A life well spent is a meaningful life. This person who is happy, satisfied with life, balancing his work, social life, is a successful person to me. He need not be very rich. As long as he is able to sustain his daily living, and family expenses, and loving what he does everyday and have meaning in his life.
In summary, if a person has all these qualities then he is said to be successful in life:
- know what he wants in life
- have a job of his dream, a job which he/she likes to do
- have a loving partner to share his/her weals and woes
- life is balanced with work, social life (friends), and families
- have no worries about money
- have children, love children and
- feeling happy and satisfied everyday for who he is (good self-esteem)and what he is doing everyday. He has every possible reason to feel proud of his own achievements in life.
