Funny old laws that are still on the books

In Florida, having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal the law can certainly be a prickly subject but surely even this is going one step beyond sanity. I am not sure I really want to know the circumstances under which it was necessary to legislate and protect porcupines, or was it to protect the people that were hopelessly in love with them I give up! What follows are a collection of crazy or outdated laws I managed to dig up doing a bit of a search, and for which some may or may not still be on the books. I will try not to pick on Florida, not that it really matters, I am an Australian and we have our own problems however these really are worth a few chuckles such as the law which makes it illegal to fart in a public place after 6pm.

Ok, so without further ado, let's spread the fun and introduce some new crazy legislation from all over the USA:

In Arizona, donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs. I have to wonder if they thought about introducing similar laws that protect porcupines in Florida!

In Arkansas, the river can rise no higher than to the Main street bridge in Little Rock. So who gets prosecuted if it goes any higher?

I love this one in Idaho, it is illegal for a man to give his sweetheart a box of candy weighing less than fifty pounds. Perhaps the less said the better!

Here is one that defies logic in Illinios the value of Pi is 4, not 3.1415. Perhaps someone really struggled at school but then how does anyone manage to work with curves?

Not to be outdone, in New York, the penalty for jumping of a high building is wait for it death! No wonder Wall Street crashed in the 1920's!

To finish this off, I have to hand it to Texas where the entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned because it contains a formula for making beer at home. Boy, the brewer's industry really has a grip on power.

This is only a tiny collection but I thought they were worth a mention.
