It's crazy really, but I can't help it. There's something about the way he wears his gun that catches my eye the moment he walks in the door. Some cops wear their guns forward on their hips, aggressive and cowboy-like. Others wear their guns shoved as far back on their belts as possible, as if embarrassed or intimidated by them. Most wear their weapons square with their shoulders, business-like and painfully conspicuous. Not him. He wears his gun slightly behind his hip, easy and discreet. You can tell that he is at peace with having a weapon as part of his life; a part of who he is.
That natural ease with his gun is extremely attractive. I immediately want to get to know him better and it helps that he is good looking; short blond hair, well-built, and kind eyes. His smile is sincere and his voice is gentle while still being firm. Amazing.

He is so polite, well-spoken, and damn that smile! Damn me for being so amusing that I provoke a surprised laugh from him. "Think of the beautiful wife that is waiting at home for him," I tell myself." Lucky lady.
So far so good. I've managed to remain polite and neutral toward him. Suddenly, he starts talking directly to me. He compliments me for being well-spoken, clear, and so obviously honest. He smiles at me and I thank him, trying not to blush. Trying to stop myself from feeling a deeper attraction.
The meeting is drawing to a close. I'll never see him again once we walk out of this room ... Thank God. I'm beginning to resent that wife I'll never see. I smile and thank him for attending the meeting. Thoughtlessly, habit kicks in again. I extend my hand and look him in the eye as I say farewell. He takes my hand in his with the perfect
