I Wonder

Do you ever wonder why the world became so dark?
Or why there's homeless people who sleep in streets and parks?
Do you ever wonder, how hunger feeds so well?
Why lies become the truth in stories people tell?

Do you ever wonder why blood waters our ground?
Or why children are subjected to the violence parents found?
Do you ever wonder why "I love you" is said with ease?
Why sex is given freely just to satisfy or please?

Wonders of this world are not; Why do stars burn bright?
But, Why do children hurt and why do parents fight?
Why is there war? Why do people have to die?
Why are daddy's angry, and why do mommy's cry?

I wonder, if I pray will my daughters wonders grow?
Will she wonder of the good things the bad she'd never know?
If one small prayer could change the wonders of a girl
Then, I wonder if we all prayed could it change a hateful world?
