Goodbye, Buffy
My little one, you've gone away -
I miss you more and more each day.
I love you, Buff so very much...
Just one more hug, just one more touch,
Just one more time to see your face,
To hold you close - time can't erase
The memories in my heart we've made -
My love for you will never fade.
The tears I shed, they're helping me
To understand this had to be.
The pain that bound and kept you here -
You braved so much with little fear.
You fought so hard to stay with me -
You loved so unconditionally
Until the end, then finally
I knew I had to set you free.
Please know how much I loved you so -
I didn't want to let you go.
But I couldn't take the hurt away -
I watched you suffer more each day.
It was more than you and I could bear -
The choice was hard but only fair.
I hope you know I had to do
What Mommy thought was best for you.
If there had been some way, somehow
My Buffy, you'd be with me now.
We tried, my love, but in the end
We had to say goodbye, my friend.
And though we now must be apart
You'll live forever in my heart.
My angel, now you're free to run,
To make new friends, have lots of fun.
Buffy, Mommy loved you so...
So much I had to let you go.

Poetry: Losing a pet
A cat will slink into your life,
And while you aren’t looking
Will steal your heart with their
Silly antics, their
Beneath the branches, soil and roots,
I laid thee.
The sorrow I felt, my heart heavy with
every movement of the shovel.

A fleeting glance, the softest purr
The sense of loss - I miss her fur
My brain makes picrtures, I see here there
My heart
by Elaine Burns
My sweetest darling Sammy
I love you and always will
But this morning when the angels came
You left and time stood still
But
by lily frost
Her name was Sweetpee.
She was my first Yorkie.
Her age was barely in year three.
She was the dearest pet, I ever had.
