Are modern Muslim fatwas (religious orders issued by leaders of Islam) fuelling Islamic extremism?

If a Fatwa is about inciting hatred and violence against anyone, including their own brothers as well as us infidels, absolutely! But what is behind the Fatwa, why do Imams and Ayatollahs incite ordinary people into such frenzied aggression?

I have been studying Islam, Judaism and Christianity for about 20 years; and have come to understand a little of the evils of religion.

Each one blames the other for atrocities committed over the last 2000 years. The leaders have time and time again convinced their sheep-like followers that the other (even those of the same faith, but with an opposing doctrine) that their view has been God ordained and therefore, 'those that are not for us are against us' are only worthy of forced conversion, persecution, enslavement or death.

All those in religious or political power, will issue fatwas' to suit there own agendas. Most of the Arab world and Central Asia is made of tribes, who traditionally would follow with fierce loyalty, even to the death; the man who is the strongest, most charismatic, and often the most ruthless. That tribalism is still just under the surface. One only has to look at Afghanistan! They will unite only when a larger threat from outside, (the Greeks, the British, the Russians and now the Western Allies) overrides their hatred and contempt for one another.

Osama bin laden, the Ayatollahs of Iran, the Taliban, Hamas etc, use this underlying violence and cultural demand for revenge, which is so much a part of tribalism; mixed with a distorted yearning for Martyrdom and Islamic fanaticism. This is an incendiary brew.

Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot all used similar psychology to instil fear and xenophobic hatred in their Fatwas (propaganda) against whoever they wanted to control or exterminate.
Islam is more dangerous than all the above, because it able to unite hundreds of millions of people, the vast majority who are uneducated, living in poverty and oppression. The spirit of Islam unites under the illusions that it is the one true religion; and that Allah ordains that the infidel either converts or is enslaved or sent to hell.

However the West, especially the United States and Britain fan the flames of Islamic aggression and revenge by pretending to help the oppressed Iraqi, Afghani etc as an excuse to control Oil and militarily important areas of the Middle East and Central Asia. Islam also equates Western political, military
