Autumn Nights
A reverence is instilled
Beneath an autumnal sky
As your body is chilled
With the wind's whispered lullaby
It seems the very essence and goal
Of the air so crisp and clean
To refresh a weary soul
With humility so keen
Your spirit rejuvenated, enlived this night
Free to roam the starry skies
Let go into the twinkling of light
To learn of heaven and become the wise
The moon a lazy crescent hung
With care above the land
To guide with her heroism unsung
And with a gentle, loving hand
The leaves crackling across the ground
As they are strewn around in wind
Have an eerie, beautiful sound
In a darkness never thinned
Forced by dawn to change it scene
To nothing more than ordinary day
The Fall's night is so serene
In almost every way
