Rejuvenate Me
The rain came pouring down last night and it has been so dry
I stood out under the droplets and suddenly began to cry
As the earth was replenished so was my soul
Washed into the ground with the water went all of my fallen goals
My mind was reborn as the trees quenched their thirst
And with rejuvenated passion I felt I just might burst
A good storm can be cleansing in so many ways
I feel it now and am looking forward to better days
Rejuvenate me and wash the past away
Nourish my dreams so they might grow
Give me strength for my beauty to convey
Rejuvenate me and watch greatness flow
As the thunder roared my body would shake
Suddenly I remembered there was nothing I couldn't take
As the lightening bolts crashed around me
It was then that I could clearly see
The wind blew in hard and like the leaves I began to sway
With each passing gust it took all the times I'd been betrayed away
In the middle of the storm I then felt at ease
With a sigh of relief I fell to my knees
Rejuvenate me and wash the past away
Nourish my dreams so they might grow
Give me strength for my beauty to convey
Rejuvenate me and watch greatness flow
As the rain slowly died down
I no longer felt that I might drown
My heart was as full as the puddles on the ground
And for the first time in a long time I could feel it pound
The storm was now in the distance
I wondered who it touched in this instance
For to the receptive soul
It can help you see your goals
Walking inside as the sun now began to shine
My worries before the storm felt so benign
I am ready to withstand all of life's whimsical flings
And to see the beauty in whatever tomorrow brings

Yet still it Dismally falls
Ah, the joy I find in winter rains!
Each drop fills my soul with frosty refrain.

Icy cold bitterness,
Cries from the heavens,
Clouds over-head,
Create slippery covered walks,
You are not alone,
