Physical concepts such as the location, building grounds and structure are viable resources when choosing a comfortable and affordable assisted living facility for a loved one. Most generally, these concepts become the central focus for the individual researching this facility when he or she determines the best place of living for his or her loved one. However, for the future prospective residents these factors of living are just an extension to the inner developments of each resident's new lifestyle of living.
When choosing an assisted living facility, pay close attention to the hospitality of the facility's employees and their manner of conduct. Observe the interaction between staff and current residents; then internally question whether staff members extend friendly hellos and polite gestures? Are employees attentive to the residents' dependent needs? Are residents' prohibited from any kind of independent living they might be capable of managing? Does the Administration of the desired facility allow its residents' to voice opinions and make suggestions regarding its operation? An assisted living facility should provide a comfort that offers its residents a "home away from home" feeling. Like a surgeon healing a wounded victim; a friendly disposition shown by the facility's staff, brings life to a resident's soul.
My grandmother speaks so highly of the assisted living facility and its employees where she currently resides. As my grandmother can testify; the staff administration makes a difference in the lives of its residents. There are so many elderly residents who, quite often, receive no visitors or mail; but the staffs' polite mannerisms and their daily assistance helps strengthen the residents' will for existence in life. Think of life's difficulties when you witness children maturing without parents; the elderly have matured and now live alone without family and face a similar difficulty. The best choice for assisted living is one where the administration and staff have not chosen their profession solely on the collection of a paycheck. Doctors heal the sick, ministers bless the weak and our country feeds the poor. Every employee in the assisted living facility becomes an inspiration to its residents; it is a simple task and one that is quite often taken for granted; smile, be kind and acknowledge the residents without frustration. The assisted living facility has brought back my grandmother's high kindred spirit and it's a wonderful feeling knowing she is safe and in good hands with caring, attentive, facility staff. This assurance helps alleviate daily worries. With the many miles that stretch between my grandmother and me; I'm most certainly appreciative of the care she receives on the inside of her chosen facility's four walls.
