Have you ever heard the old saying that love is blind? Of course, we all have, But do you know what blinded it? Inner Beauty.
Svelte women, with baby soft skin, and beautiful hair, perfectly positioned in the latest styles, are the standards by which we have come to recognize beauty today. They grace the covers of magazines and movie screens. Plastic surgery has become a common and accepted practice. Indeed, some women are prouder of the doctors contributions, than they are of what their momma, and the good Lord gave them, and have no problem letting you know. There may even be a couple more surgeries, lined up in the future, in the ever elusive search for perfect beauty. But what is beauty?
Is it golden blonde tresses, or sultry bedroom eyes? Can it be found achieved with perfect teeth? What is it the distinction between attractive, and beautiful? Beauty, in the eye of the beholder, is more than an adjective, it is an action.
For far too long we have gone along with the impossible standards and ideals put forth for todays women. In the real world, there are things that are more important than the face in the mirror, or how attractive that face is to the general population.
What is more important, the time consuming beautifying routines you must perform before leaving for work? Or starting out the day on a cheerful positive note with your children? Because of pressure to be beautiful, more and more woman are finding themselves facing these time crunch decisions. The woman who used to fix her children breakfast, and send them off to school with a hug and a smile, now tells her children to get themselves ready for school. Make their own breakfast. Mommy is on a tight schedule. The children may look up from their bowls of cereal and say " mommy you look so pretty", but truth of the matter is, in their eyes, she was beautiful when she woke up that morning.
Is there a model in any magazine, or movie, with a smile that can tug a mans heart, like the smile shared with his wife, as they gaze upon their first born child? When a husband loses a loved one, and needs emotional support, and looks into the eyes of the woman he loves, does he see the mascara streaked smudges running down her cheeks, that send most women dashing for the closest mirror? Or does he see the love shining through, in the tears she sheds, because she truly shares his pain?
There is nothing more beautiful than a woman in love
