Wikipedia is a reference website that can be changed and edited at the will of its viewers. If people were to write their own Bible in the Wikipedia style, one person's writing would be up only moments before someone else came along and changed what was written to suit their own interpretation.
The Bible is so much more than a simple reference guide. It is the word of God; His book of love to His children throughout the ages of the Earth, despite what people may say about it's being inapplicable and irrelevant to our day and age.
Deuteronomy 4:2, in the King James Version of the Bible, says, "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."
If WikiBible is written, it is possible that people would take the liberty to leave out or rewrite what they want to suit what they like or don't like or perhaps don't even understand and the world will fall into greater confusion regarding the truths of the Bible than it is at present. But "God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." (1 Corinthians 14:33)
2 Peter 1:20-21 says, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God space as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
There are many different versions of the Bible in the world today, and thousands of different opinions regarding the words contained within the pages of that holy book. I may share my opinion that Jacob was testing Esau to see how much his birthright was worth to him was he willing to sell it for food? While someone else may express that Jacob tricked his twin into giving up the birthright, and would write the "scripture" accordingly. (Genesis 25:29-24)
Revelation 22:18-19, written by John, expands on Peter's words. "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Let us keep God's word as it is and not bring any more confusion into the world. Instead, bring understanding and enlightenment.
