"Music soothes my soul." This saying best describes how important music is in life. In any event in people's lives, you find music integrated with it. Be it at a children's party, a school play, high school dance, graduation ceremony, wedding, or funeral rites, music is present. Even from the very start in a mother's womb, as fetus, we already give it a good kick when we hear a certain beat that we like.
From my personal side, in most of my activities, playing a song I am fond of gives me a good perk for the day. In the morning upon waking up, I switch on the radio to my favorite station and it is like my wake up call. When driving around, a good cd playing in the background relieves me from drive stress or tones down any road rage I may encounter. While doing household chores, with music, it makes me feel lighter while cooking, loading the laundry, or cleaning up, among many others things. I don't feel the burden much while running errands. Logging in to the computer, having my playlist on, eases up my online time for both work and personal matters. It keeps me in a cheery mood. One of the last things I do before going to sleep is listen to some songs I like.
Most importantly, in each and everyone of us, music is reflected on our life's journey. We cannot deny having a theme for the different stages in our lives. You look back to the 80s and reminisce on your elementary or high school days. If you're a baby boomer, you fondly cherish the rock and roll era of the 60s and 70s. Remember the song when your special love first caught your eye? Or maybe the song you danced with your puppy love? Having a couple's theme song is also common as it conveys what you feel for each other.
What is more amazing is that music is evident in everyone from all across nations. People of all ages, of any race, religion, social class, size, or color come together when it comes to music. Language barriers are broken down by music. It strongly conveys what people feel and have thoughts on. People understand each other with the simple melody of beautiful music. A meaningful message is delivered from one person to another across the globe. Simply put, music unites us in more ways than we could ever imagine. It has a spell that binds us with one another.
In whatever angle we look at it, ever since music dawned upon one's hearing of its beauty, it is embedded within us. The Music Language is in our inner core. We revel in a lyrical world.
