Rainbow and Sunset
Rainbow is desperately vying
For Sunset's attention.
The rays of color
Show vivid in his fins
As he starts to dance
Around the ceramic wall
And past the heater.
He coyly brushes up
Against her.
She goes to the top to feed.
He follows.
The two have explored
Every part of that tank together.
Sunset is now staring at me.
She spits out her food in disgust
Of me.
I must look strange to her
Without a companion,
A Rainbow.
I told her that I only have Clouds.
They only promise rain
And thunder.
They haven't tempted the
Sun to come out in me.
Her eyes seem to hold onto
My every word.
After that day,
I vowed to look
For my Rainbow.
