Beaches empty into school yards.
Hillsides blaze with color.
Crackling leaves crunch under foot.
Summer's bounty falls to make winter's compost.
Morning's chill predicts winter's freeze.
One lone leaf trembles in the breeze.
Autumn's last yawn foretells winter's sleep.
