Poetry: Autumn

by Ann Taugher

Created on: October 30, 2008

Beaches empty into school yards.

Hillsides blaze with color.

Crackling leaves crunch under foot.

Summer's bounty falls to make winter's compost.

Morning's chill predicts winter's freeze.

One lone leaf trembles in the breeze.

Autumn's last yawn foretells winter's sleep.

One lone leaf trembles in the breeze.

Autumn's last yawn foretells winter's sleep.
