Having a positive attitude can make a big difference in your life. There's nothing wrong with donning a pair of rose-colored glasses. Believing your glass is always half full is a good approach to life. Quoting Trooper "We're here for a good time, not a long time!" For ways to bring out your inner optimism see my list of tips below.
1. Don't sweat the small stuff- Stop worrying about the little details. Nothing in life is perfect. Obsessing about life's minor setbacks puts a damper on your mood. Don't let the little things stress you out. Remember what's important. No one cares if your bed is made. Who's really going to see it?
2. Make the best out of every situation- Look at your situation from every angle. Can you find a positive side? You don't have control over the weather and others but you can control your mood. A rainy vacation isn't perfect but could still be lots of fun. Find others to chat with or go out for dinner. Relax in your pajamas till noon!
3. Don't be picky- Setting your standards too high creates disappointment. Nothing is certain in life. Places, people and plans can change. You will have to go with the flow. Stop resisting the change and start having fun. Don't say, "I'll be happy when"
4. Keep an open mind- You don't know if you will like something until you try it. Keep an open mind. People may surprise you. Your likes can change. Be open to all life's adventures!
5. Have back-up plans- When you are planning an event be prepared for the worst. Consider your back up plans. You know there is the possibility things won't go your way. If they do you should really be grateful!
6. Laid-Back Personality- Adopting a carefree attitude to life doesn't mean that you just don't care. It means you can keep your emotions in check. Whatever happens, life goes on!
7. Be thankful- Remember what you have and your reasons to be thankful. Keep those reasons forefront in your mind. Having an attitude of gratitude keeps your outlook positive. Be thankful for all that you have!
8. Surround yourself with positive people- When you surround yourself with negative people it can really bring you down. Positive people lead happy lives. Their moods can be infectious. Don't let others pessimism ruin your day. Try to avoid or just ignore them!
9. Sense of Humor- Positive people have a sense of humor. Learn to laugh at yourself. Don't be self-conscious or embarrassed of others. It's really not much fun. Smile, laugh, and see the joke of life. Develop your sense of humor!
10. Relaxation- It's hard to stay positive when you are feeling stressed. Learn the art of relaxing. Use comfort items to brighten your mood. Would a coffee from Timmy's help?
Make the most of your life. Try new things every day. Never, ever stop learning. Search for things you enjoy and that make you feel good. Learn more about yourself. No one has the power to make you happy. This task is up to you. Don't waste any time. Put a smile on today. Love yourself and the miracle of life!
