Poetry: Grace

by Kristal Mcvicar

Silence fills the air around
Peace descends within
Buried deep beneath the chaos
There's a new life to begin

Emotional exhaustion
Had first to take its place
So you may venture further down
To find the peace of grace

Within that grace you can't discover
All you're meant to know
What meaning has this life you live
Which direction should you grow

Languishing in limbo
Has lent a heavy cost
Days and nights spent praying
That somehow you'd not be lost

But lost you were in chaos
Unable to clear the haze
Trapped inside an empty void
That would often last for days

Exhaustion came to rescue you
No defense was left to fight
The grace within you couldn't reach
Was suddenly within your sight

Silence filled the air around
Chaos dissipated
Grace discovered deep within
A grace you'd long awaited

A new life sits before you now
You needed only to reach out
And inwards too to find the grace
That life is all about
