I believe marriage should most definitely remain how it has been from the dawn of mankind: a sacred institution between man and woman. I am not religious in any way so I am not going to preach "the word" like many might try to do when it comes to a subject like this. To me it has nothing to do with religion but everything to do with nature and humankind. Gay marriage is unnatural at every level.

I personally have nothing against gay people for the most part, on some level I can understand why people are gay. Many have had so many bad experiences with the opposite sex that they just give up on them, so they end up finding someone of the same sex they confide in and an attraction forms. Some gay people and some "experts" say that some people are basically just born gay, I don't think there is a shred of truth to that. I feel that if someone is gay from a young age, they need to be looking at how their parents raised them, parents are responsible for almost all of their children's behavior. Basically I think something happens along the way that turns someone gay, no one is born gay, therefore it is unnatural.

There are many things that people do anymore that are unnatural, I accept that, it's just the way that society has become anymore. But when gay people try to roll something so unnatural into something that has remained the same for as long as mankind has a history of: Marriage being a sacred institution between a man and woman, they are taking it a little to far.

The definition of marriage according to Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary is:
Mar"riage\, n. [OE. mariage, F. mariage. See Marry, v. t.]
1. The act of marrying, or the state of being married; legal union of a man and a woman for life, as husband and wife; wedlock; matrimony.
Seems pretty cut and dry to me, I don't see any way whatsoever to interpret that to mean that the same holds true for members of the same sex.

Marriage is the very core of a family, and family is the very core of humankind, we don't just randomly pop out of the ground. We are born, from the womb of a woman, from a seed planted by a man. Man and woman, that is the only natural way that our species continues to exist and evolve. Two men can not conceive a child, nor can two women, if the entire world was gay, we would simply cease to exist. It's just like every other animal species in the world, male and female mate and produce offspring, and the species survives, it's just the natural order of things. Why would anyone want to go against nature in this way, down a path that could potentially lead to extinction? I know that sounds a bit exaggerated, but that's what it could lead to.

I have no problem with the existence of gay people, and I don't even have a problem with them wanting certain rights, but this is one right that should never be given to them.
