We need to decide whether being President should be viewed as any other job. If as citizens we view that we have the right to impeach the President which is quite similar to firing an everyday employee. If you view things in this aspect then should we treat his position as President similar to any other employee within a company. Do you have to disclose your health records to your employer to decide whether your health should be a deciding factor of whether you get a job? I believe that a physcial to make sure they are physically and mentally able to handle the position is sufficient enough.
I understand that being a President is a huge dedication and may take a toll on your body, but I also believe that your health records are yours. Nobody has access to your health records thanks to HIPAA, which was a vital law that was passed for the security of each individual equally. I think we want to know everything about a President because their is so much slashing in America when election time comes around every four years.
Americans used to stand by their President, even back during WWII, when many people thought it was a war which wasn't needed quite similar to the war we are in now. However, the difference is nobody wrote articles in the paper bashing the President. No radio jockeys spent a majority of their morning bashing the President. We as a Country stood together, proudly, and supported our President because we knew that it wasn't just his decision to enter the war. Yet, now with President Bush, we spend most of our timely bashing and saying harsh things along with pointing our finger.
I think it is time that our Country become a little more supportive in this economic recession and come together instead of pointing fingers, and making accusations. During September 11th, we joined as a Country and everybody proudly wore red, white and blue. We all were proud of our country and now I don't see that. All I see is everybody turning on one another and would rather spend their time trying to "dig up dirt" instead of actually listening to what each individual candidate has to say.
I know, I want to know what each individual candidate is going to do to help this economic decline, not what their health records look like. I don't think it is morally or legally right that a candidate have to disclose their personal health records. I know that I would feel violated if everyone viewed my health records, so I really could care less to see the presidential candidates. I would rather focus on what each candidate has to offer AMERICA.
