Poetry: Fading love

by Christine Pettaway

Created on: October 29, 2008

I can't help thinking that you have fallen out of love with me.

Like a forgotten favorite shirt,

I'm a forgotten image,

Fading with the distance,

Fading withe the colors of over dried shirts.

When I left we said we'd try,

Now I'm gone,

I still try,

But messages remain unanswered.

My pictures probably found in boxes,

Stored away until thrown away.

Like a bad memory

I fade from you dreams,

From your life.

Like a dream my moment was short

Hard to recall

With the flash of day break

Forgotten.

A simple message spelled out twice

My dream of happiness

Happiness shared with you

Now gone like a run away

Never found.

The vision of children, a career

Now fade as the image of you

Embedded,breaks away

I would have altered my ideas,

There is no need now.

Farewell.

Take care.

Squeezed and love my teddy

I trustfully placed in your possession.

Well played.

I believed love could be just two simple entities.

You

and

Me.
