Poetry: Addiction

by Michael Janiec

Created on: October 29, 2008

Jump highwired to skunk on a tree trunk
Funked and dazzled
Feel the rushhhhhhh...

Inner thoughts come winding up
Connect the dots beyond the pattern-printed lines

Speak from the inner-mind
The insiders eyes proceed
Clouded perceptions sneak up
Press rewind one more time

Hear it repeat:

"Seek the greater reasons in this maze of silver hazed seasons. But beware of brass knuckle bruises for the tree abusers!"

Jump over to the roof
How high can you get?
Swing and sway down again
Now lay in the grass

It only took me fifty minutes Damn, that stuff really weeds out my memories fast
