The best way to spend a boring afternoon is to curl up on the sofa, or your favorite comfy chair with the tv off, enjoying the latest book that your favorite author has released. What a better way to entertain your day, to get lost in the pages of an exciting story, to be able to forget everything around you for just a little while. Using your imagination, letting yourself get lost in the story, almost as if you are right there in the middle of whats going on. But with the economy on the decline like it is these days, buying all the newest releases can get a bit expensive. However there are ways that you can save a buck and still get to read your favorite books. Some require you to spend some money, some don't, depends on the availability of the particular book you are interested in, but I can almost guarantee you don't have to pay full price for that book.
Get online, join a book club. Here you are able to choose different options, some offer up to 80% off the price of newer books, while others offer 6 books for 99 cents each with a commitment to buy a certain amount of books in a certain amount of time of course. Though some of these clubs are actually worth the commitment. Such sites as doubledaybookclub.com offer this feature of becoming a member and getting the 6 books for a dollar each and up to 60% off new books as long as you are ordering from them. Not only can you join a book club for general interest, but there are also clubs that specialize in interests such as mystery or Romance. You can compare such sites all over the internet to choose which has the best options for you.
You can also buy all your books online and save. Sites such as Amazon.com, you can browse and choose from a very wide variety of books for up to 45% off retail price. You also have the choice to buy used books for a much lower price. Amazon will show you different prices for the same book from new to used books. They also give you the option to pre order some of the newest releases for 40% off retail value. Stores such as Borders and Barnes and Noble also offer discounts on the newest releases as well as free shipping on orders over a certain amount.
Borders, as well as some other book stores, also offer a rewards card with free membership that offers you different percentages off on certain books or certain days, as well as earning rewards for every purchase you make. This particular store lets you earn $5 Border Bucks for every $150 you spend. This lets you earn money off of future purchases. Every store has a different reward system that they find suitable. You can also check out the local used book stores in your city. Chances are you can find some of the newest releases for almost nothing. Its also a great idea for getting rid of that new book once you finish and giving someone else the opportunity to purchase it for cheap.
Another great idea, swap with friends and family, they may have the book you are looking for and you may have one they wouldn't mind reading. There are many different ways to get the newest releases without paying much at all. And if you don't want to pay anything, check out your local library, you may have to be put on a waiting list if the book is popular, but you get to read it for free. Its worth it.
