The majority of American's these days spend more money on gas for their vehicles then they do on groceries. What is wrong with that picture? Gas prices are outrageous and will continue to be. What is wrong with America? Why do they have to purchase oil from overseas when some of our southern states can do that job? But that is a whole other subject. So I'm sure that if you ask anyone how to save more money at the gas pump they are gonna ask you the same question. This is a concern with 95% of the population who is actually old enough to drive, especially those on a tight income already. Its hard to get to the grocery store to buy your food when you don't have any extra money for gas right? Well there are ways to save on gas, just do a little bit of research.
There are grocery stores that offer perks on gas, if you spend so much money they will either give you so much off gas or give you a gas card, well your spending the money on food anyway so why not take advantage of this. There are time when you can earn a full tank of gas for free, doesn't that sound good to you? If there aren't any grocery stores around you that offer these perks than how are you gonna save on gas? Well there are a few sites on the internet where you can do some research and find ways to save on gas, for instance freegashelp.com, where you have to meet a few minimal requirements, but sponsers will pay you to advertise on your car, therefore getting you free gas. Doesn't that sound nice. There are companies that offer you free gas cards to apply for a credit card, or buying a new car, or even contests where you can win free gas cards.
The most efficient way to save on gas prices is to shop around. Check out all of the local gas stations around your city, or even surrounding cities to see what their prices are. Call a friend who may live half an hour from you and find out what they are paying, sometimes it worth it to drive all the way out there to fill up, and visit an old friend while you are at it. One gas station may offer gas for say $2.19 a gallon, while two doors down it can be $2.17, or even a couple miles up the road it can either be say $2.09 or even $2.29. Don't pay for the most expensive gas, rather drive a mile or two and get the cheapest you can find, saving you more than two cents a gallon, you might not be saving much, but it adds up, especially if you are filling up a 30 gallon tank rather than just getting 15 gallons of gas.
Other ways you can save on gas, carpool with co workers. Each of you can take turns driving while the others pitch in to help pay for gas, it works out for all of you in the long run. Keeping your tires properly inflated can also help on the gas, saving you money in the long run. Also keeping your car well maintained and getting your oil changes done, these are ways to improve your gas mileage, do the speed limit, limit your car from idling so much, there are many many things you can do to improve how much gas your car uses. Just be smart about it.
