The Israeli War of 1948 had witnessed more the 7,50,000 refugees and thereafter wars and civil unrest and the problem still continues because of the refugees. Bush did invade Iraq in 2003 to liberate the Iraqis from Saddam, but what the Bush administration failed to see at the epitome of War was the refugees of Iraq. The refugee crises, if not attended too, now. Will create a big disturbance in the Sunni, shiah, Kurdish, Christian and other minority population of Iraq. US should fulfill its obligation towards solving the refugee problem, because it was them who invaded Iraq with a purpose. If US ignore its purpose they only make their pursuit towards regional peace in Middle East an Utopian task.
The US government has to get the other nations from the Middle East to collaborate with them to find a solution for the Iraqi refugees before they are destabilized and turn to means of insurgency or terrorism. The nations from Middle East as they are Arabic speaking have a greater advantage in supporting the US to develop a strategy and plan a proper allocations of the refugees. Everybody knows that all these refugees cannot go all the way to US to settle down, that something impossible. Due to the growing rates in the insurgent attacks and the death toll on the news headlines, so far approximately 27.5 Million people have fled their homes and this figure grows daily. Now if the US looks at the scene of Iraq before the invasion, things weren't bad as compared to present times, "we were all living happily and harmoniously" said one of my Iraqi friends. I am sure the rest of the Iraqis feel the same. The people are deprived of basic necessity of water, food and electricity and not to forget a good night's sleep. I wonder the next President of US has put this on his agenda. As the right strategy on Iraq would serve best in interests of US and if neglected it would only damage the US reputation more in the Middle East as the refugee crises go out of control
After the Israeli War The Palestinian refugee camps were never taken into the consideration of a proper action by the US or the UN as a result the terrorist organization started recruiting the people from these camps and adding more to the misery of the Palestinian state and the Israelis. So its time that the US government learns from its mistake or point missed earlier in Palestine and now focuses on how to settle the people of Iraq. To get together the GCC and the Arab nations, so that with everyone support the US lays a proper paving to the path of peace. The relocation and settlement is also not possible by US alone. The end of insurgency and terrorism will also not be achieved without unifying the Iraqi population with the support of the Arab nations. Then only the start of the refugee crises solving can begin or at least not achieved at first instance.
The fate of the Iraqi people just remains in the hands of the Americans and its up to the Americans that they get their act together to solve a greater problem then Saddam.
