Every night before bed, Jasmine followed the same routine. She would take a bath, put on pajamas, brush her teeth, and then her mom would read her a story. The problem is, Jasmine liked to take really long baths. Every night her mom would say, "Jasmine it's time to get out the bath." And every night Jasmine would say, "Okay mom, just one more minute." But bathtime was so much fun for Jasmine. She never stayed in the bathtub just one more minute. She liked to lie in the water, she liked to hold her breath under the water, and she especially liked to splash in the water. Jasmine splashed so much that her mom had to wipe the floor with a towel after she got out. Jasmine would take so long getting ready for bed that her mom would start to get sleepy before reading her a story. So one night Jasmine's mom told her, "If you don't take faster baths we're not going to have storytime anymore." This made Jasmine a little sad. Jasmine enjoyed storytime. She laughed when her mom made funny voices, she clapped when her mom would sing, and she always joined in when her mom would dance around the room. Jasmine liked storytime a lot, but she really liked bathtime and still did not get out when her mom asked her to. So a couple of nights later, Jasmine's mom told her, "If you stay in the bathtub too long you're going to turn into a fish." That didn't sound very bad to Jasmine. She thought that turning into a fish would be great. That night when Jasmine went to bed she tried to imagine what being a fish would be like and started to dream about it. In Jasmine's dream she was playing in the bathtub like she always does when she suddenly started to shrink. She got smaller and smaller until she was the size of a goldfish. Then Jasmine grew a tail, fins, and gills. The gills helped Jasmine breathe under water. Now she could stay under the water for as long as she wanted. She could also jump out of the water and splash. Jasmine thought being a fish was very cool. Then Jasmine's mom came in to tell her that it was time to get out, but she didn't see her daughter anywhere. Jasmine's mom was happy. She thought that Jasmine had finally taken a faster bath. So she unplugged the drain, grabbed a towel, and began wiping the floor. As the water started going down and Jasmine got scared. Jasmine called for her mom but she couldn't hear her. Then Jasmine started jumping out of the water to try to catch her mom's attention. But Jasmine's mom had already gotten up and walked out the bathroom. Jasmine got sucked down the drain. When Jasmine woke up she was very happy to be a girl again. From that day on, Jasmine got out of the bathtub as soon as her mom told her to.
