Is America losing its status of World's most powerful nation?

There is an old adage that says "All great civilizations fall"; it happened to Spain once a power during the 1400-1500s, than England 1600- 1800s, now possibly the USA 1776- to Present? In this era of globalization of World economies more and more nations are becoming more competitive in areas where the USA once was ahead. China is expected to surpass the USA in computer technology, Science and Space Exploration, in addition to rapid rate of economic growth. India is currently advanced in computer technologies and most IT jobs are outsourced here. Russia has an increasing military and has reverted back to attempting to expand and control oil resources around surrounding countries in Europe which once were part of Communist USSR.

President placed in office with a pseudo democracy operating in the Kremlin orchestrated and run by Former President Putin now Prime Minister.

Democratic European countries are creating economic growth and some have universal healthcare for its citizens such as France, Italy, England and Norway. These countries may pay higher taxes for these services but it keeps healthcare costs down stressing preventative care and strengthening their economies by increasing job productivity among the population.

Iceland was ranked best country to live in for women, here woman keep their maiden names when married, very progressive regarding woman's rights.

Some Latin nations have increased productivity through exports and are developing green technologies for alternative fuels. Brazil has used an alternative fuel since the 1970s for their cars, a resource their country is abundant in which is sugar cane oil for small cars which use this source as fuel; Brazil no longer uses oil as a fuel.

America has lost its status as a diplomatic nation, many nations around the world have a negative view of our free liberal capitalist society and under the current administration's lack of human basic rights with Guantanomo . The Middle East has a narrow religious and political view of the USA , their governments regards us, as The Great Satan, an immoral society of excess which supports Israel and are anti-Muslim. The Iraq war, Afghanistan and Pakistan issues has broadened these views.

In this global economy, America should accept that we have digressed in the health sciences, the global economy, alternative energy resources, computer technologies, and many other areas where many other nations will eventually surpass the USA in few years. The US should concentrate and refocus on domestic issues and have the United Nations create an equal coalition of armed forces to help all nations re-build poorer nations and to fight the global threat of Terrorism , and global food shortages around the world.
