Poetry: Seals

by Stephanie Clarke

Created on: October 28, 2008

I hope you never see a screecher

The most pitiful sight is he

A white coated baby seal

Not yet out on the open sea

Starved, abandoned pup

clinging to life by a thread

As he drags himself toward you

Innocent beauty almost dead

A labrador without legs

Helpless and forsaken

Unless to a sanctuary

This gentle soul is taken
