I never understood just how powerful positive thinking can be until i actually tried it. I tried it before, but was never consistent with it so always believed that it was overrated. I do understand now that a negative attitude will only bring more negativity into one's life. In terms of weight loss, a lot of people won't lose the weight because they keep telling themselves that they cant, so they never would and would probably continue not to.
The things that i have implemented and have been practising everyday have not only started to turn my life around with my battle to shed some weight, but in almost all other areas of my life, and i truly believe this comes from changeing my mindset to positive. What i have done for myself is i've started a diary/scrapbook and pasted pictures of all the wonderful things i have dreamt of. Yes there are a few pictures of bikinis in there! Included in this diary are all my goals broken down into smaller milestones, that way there is less pressure for me and i get to enjoy the journey.
The reason i have this book as it gives me a vision of the future i dream of, and every day i tell myself "I can", and i know i will. This book represents only positivity and happiness and provides me with a focus. If i keep telling myself "I cant", then i never will. With regard to weight loss, having this positive mindset really helps keep the level of motivation up, and may not just help you but others around you who will feed off your positive energy. Then this creates a circle around you that is positive and encouraging, rather than having people around you who aren't like minded and can be potentially toxic to you
If ever i feel a flat or blah day approaching, i know i need to get out of that frame of mind otherwise the negative thoughts will start creeping in, then all the strength and positive energy built up starts to slip away. To combat the blue days, i go through and think of all the wonderful things in my life. Things that i have achieved, friends, family, a good job etc. Focusing on all these things makes the battle to lose weight seem trivial and in other words, an obstacle to my life that hardly seems like an obstacle but more of a roadblock that i can easily get around.
Remember that saying "you can" is saying you are worthy and you believe in yourself, and this attitude will change your life forever as long as you are consistent with it and tell yourself that you can, every day. Reach for the stars!
