Love, Light, Dark, Hate
These are the things that keep me late
Into the night, inside my head
They creep and crawl
and through it all
I know I lay awake.
I think of Him
I think of Me
The ones who truly
create a 'we'
I see His face,
I see His smile
The warmth of it...
Let me just think
for a longer while.
I remember my day
When I lost my bag
and recall the rumors
of the latest gag
across the halls and through the class
My status at school is as thick as glass.
Suddenly life sets me for a spin
as I remember the house,
The trouble I'm in.
My grades aren't the best
I know it to be true
Compared with my sister
There is no pulling through.
I worry, I wait.
Did I forget this attest?
Am I missing something?
Suddenly, unknown duress.
So all through the night
I listen and pace
To see myself
With my oncoming fate
And my teetering thoughts
All through the night
Tonight sleep must wait.
