The draft should not be reinstated. We have enough outcries and problems from people with the fact that there is no draft. Personally, I think it could be beneficial to have young men go to other counteries and see how the rest of the world lives, it teaches them resonsibility, to follow orders and to be clean as well as appreciation for all we have in this country. However, there has been too much protesting concerning the military and we have been without the draft for too many years to go back to it. It is much more beneficial to our country and to the military to have people serve who want to serve. I know that sometimes there are people who hate the choice they made in joining the military, but for the most part most of our military are proud to be where they are and doing what they are doing. Most of them will see various part of the world, most of them will get educated and most of them will have lifelong benefits that they will be glad to use in life.

There are some things that we can't go back in time and change and I think that reinstating the draft is one of them.

At one time I believe that people in prison were given the chance to join the military to work off the time they have to serve in prison. Many of them may have become heroes and turned their lives around. I don't know if that option is available to many of our prisoners today. I wonder how many would opt to do time in the military instead of time in prison. Just food for thought.

Another chance in the military is that years ago we never drafted women. i know we had WAVEs and WACs but believe they were more in the medical field than in actual battle. Today we have many women who enter the military and they love being there, thay are a credit to our country and it is always better to have people who want to be in any profession than not want to be there, because they do a better job wherever they are are stationed and regardless of the work they have to do.

I know many people who have made and are making a career out of the military. They are all happy people, they love what they are doing and I have never heard any of them complain about the military. I also know others who have served with the only regret being that they did not make a career out of the military.

Unfortunately sometimes it is safer to make a career out of the military than at other times. People in the military serve our country in many ways, especially when we have natural disasters. Most of the people who are in the military are a credit to our country and we can never thank them enough for the service they give to keep us safe and free.
