Gone
Gone are the golden pastures of youth
Gone are the gutteral howls of laughter from ancient times
Gone are the natural springs of childhood memories
Now all that remains are sunken holes with rubber
Gone are the smells of dew in the morning
Gone are the porch swings and lazy afternoons
Gone are the days of shooting rocks in the creek
Now all that remains are houses with no past and no future
Gone are the voices of idealistic measure
Gone are the chances never renewed
Gone are the faces so clearly etched in the minds eye
Now all that remains are headstones and dead roses
Plastic earings are all that are left
Robbed by those who supposidly loved
But now leave beer cans as empty gestures
The words "Get Away" shatter like glass
Gone are the moments of simple, joyful peace
Gone are the moments of belief
Gone are the idle pleasures of hearing the barbaric voice
Now all that remains are echos of disturbing unrest
Gone are the childish dreams so long ago erased
Gone are the smiles of your handsome face
Gone are the ties that binded family
Now all that remains are lies and murky secrets hovering like clouds
Gone are the years of security
Gone are the children who remember
Gone are the porcelain times of adolescence
Now all that remains is uncertainty
Photographs are all that are left
They offer no consolation
They bring no one or anything back
The words "Get Away" shatter like glass

Poetry: Sorrow
I'm no longer me
It's like I've conformed into someone you would like me to be.
Or was I really happier before
Was it the weed?
Or
Sorrow Death and Grieving
A leaf and flower petal
Went floating in the breeze
A tiny little feather
Joined them in the trees
A
A hidden figure hides his face
People's gazes giving chase
His head is hung in deepest sorrow
It's there today and tomorrow
It
America's Hero
I knew that you would answer
Once you heard the call
Never did I imagine
That the towers, they would fall
Though sorrows well and flood like lunar tides
And evil settles in a sieging war;
My LORD, my strength, shall shield me on
