With a history that reaches back to 2500 B.C., there are many spectacular places to visit in India. Through centuries of varying dynasties, Islamic and European influences have all gone on to create a unique and remarkable country. If you're to visit this incredible country, one should visit:

1. Delhi, The Old City (called Shahjanhanabad) and the New City. Make sure you see the Red Fort (which is symbolic of Mughal elegance) and the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. There's the Memorial to Mathatma Gandi and the 12th century Qutab Minar, which is the world's largest brick minaret.

2. Jodhpur, make sure to visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of India's most imposing palaces, it's built with over 1 million square feet of marble, has 347 rooms and is the world's largest private residence. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort is on the outskirts of Jodhpur and is one of the largest forts in India. Originally started in 1459 by Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur. Its museum has wonderful collection of royal cradles, musical instruments, and furniture. You get an incredible view of the city from its ramparts.

Varanasi-One of the old continuously inhabited cities in the world, sitting on the west bank of the Ganges River. It's city is holy to Hindus and Buddhists. Visit Sarnath, the buried Buddhist city were Budda preached his first sermon after attaining Nirvana. Events of Budda's life are depicted in colorful wall painting.
