Poetry: I am

by Carol Campbell

Created on: October 26, 2008

If you see my shadow pass as you make your way,
kindly direct her home, she left me quite alone.
Amidst the rant and raving, and solemn mood today.
Her whereabouts I'm sure are not so far unknown.

If you call her name, and greet her with your smile,
hold out your hand so gently and tender as you seek.
Her outer core appearing bold may trick you for awhile.
For beneath the hardened shell lies one so mild and meek.

Her laughter may be strong, her eyes may glitter brightly.
Yet beneath the moon so full she may joyously be dancing.
Let her body reach the stars as you approach her lightly.
Don't provoke, intrude or interupt her gallant glancing

Her thoughts may wander as she tenderly looks away.
Happy to embrace herself within the swaying breeze.
Leaving may be difficult as I'm sure she'll want to stay
So if you find my shadow, kindly take me to her please.
